NASA Helps Again
STRICTLY GOLF online By Bob Lamb, April 16, 2007

The North American Squirrel Association of Onalaska, a non-profit group that helps physically challenged and senior citizens enjoy hunting and fishing, donated a specially designed SoloRider golf car to Trempealeau Mountain Golf Club in Trempealeau recently.

Nasa plans to provide additional SoloRider vehicles to other La Crosse area courses to help disabled players and seniors enjoy the game.

"We think there are a lot of people out there who probably feel they can't play the game because of mobility issues, so they just don't try to play anymore," said Pat Lamke, vice president of nasa. "But this golf cart allows players to play the game the way it was meant to be played."

SoloRider golf cars are equipped with hand controls and an electronic seat that can be adjusted so golfers with limited mobility can play their shots without leaving the vehicle. An automotive-type suspension system and precise weight distribution enable the golf car to be driven onto tee boxes and greens without damaging the turf.

Bill Pearse, director of golf and PGA professional at Trempealeau Mountain, said the 18-hole daily fee course will waive the standard cart fee to encourage disabled golfers and seniors to get back in the game with the help of the SoloRider.
