Longbow introduces two SoloRider golf cars to its fleet

Longbow Golf Club Provides Enhanced Accessibility For Golfers With Limited Mobility

MESA, Ariz. – Longbow Golf Club added two SoloRider golf cars to its fleet allowing golfers with limited mobility to more easily play the game of golf. With the SoloRider, golfers are able to drive on sensitive areas such as tees and greens without damaging the turf. The SoloRider’s seat swivels to 350 degrees allowing golfers to easily exit and enter the golf car. Plus, golfers are able to swivel the seat to the rear, and make a golf swing from the seated position. Those who wish to use the SoloRider can simply reserve it when making their golf reservation at Longbow Golf Club.

“We are pleased to announce the addition of these two golf cars for golfers with limited mobility,” said Jay Larscheid, General Manager of Longbow Golf Club. “Although some may lose the ability to walk the golf course, they don’t lose the passion for the game. We are excited to help improve accessibility to the game and to Longbow Golf Club.”

Although the use of golf cars in recreational golf is commonplace, a high-profile court case regarding their use in competitive play was brought to the forefront by professional golfer, Casey Martin. Now the golf coach at the University of Oregon, Martin was recently at Longbow Golf Club attending a ReBath Heather Farr Classic when he learned about Longbow’s commitment to golfers with limited mobility.

“I think it is awesome that Longbow Golf Club has embraced the disabled golf community with their purchase of SoloRider carts,” said Martin. “We need more golf courses to join them in accommodating the needs of so many people. I applaud Longbow for being proactive in their desire to help those golfers with special needs.”
